The Problem with the Net

We don't have a great deal of information about what happened between the resurrection and when Jesus ascended. I’d like to look at one of the records that we know happened during this period.  (NIV)John 21:   1 Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee. It happened this way: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. 3 “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We'll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. So Let’s get this straight, Peter and Thomas (Also called Didymus)   Didymus  mean  twin  Nathanael and the sons of Zebedee So now we need to Identify who these people are so we know who we are talking about. Peter of course is the apostle Thomas was also an apostle. John 11:16    Then said Thomas, which is ...

The Resurrection

These are the three greatest words ever spoken. Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Mar 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. Luke 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galile e, Now John says he wasn't there in the tomb. John 20:5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. (The faster running disciple) 7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. (everything neat and in order) But it also says later on: John 21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. I feel so badly for our brothers and sisters who fall pray to t...

The others crucified with Christ

If you asked most christians what the crucifixion looked like I would bet would describe something that looked like this. The thing is we now have to ask is this what the word says? The only way to find out is to open the word be it your favorite bible website or opening a real bible to see what it says. That is the only way to separate the truth from the tradition. Remember what Jesus said about tradition? Mark7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. What we are looking for is the truth of the word of God not what tradition says. Tradition is fine when it lines up with God's word but if you base your belief system solely on tradition you will be wrong sooner or later then your belief is wrong. If your or my belief system contradicts the bible we need to go with the bible. So let's go to the word of God and see what it says. Luke 23:32-40 32 And there were also two oth...
