Ephesians 2

Ephesians 2 2:1 And (even) you [hath he quickened], who were (being) dead in trespasses and sins; The first word in verse 1 is the word and. Now this word is a conjunction it ties that which came before with that which follows. There should not be a chapter at 2 verse one since it is connected with verse since it is tied to 1 by the conjunction 20 and following is a parenthetical phrase an explanation of the prayer in chapter 1. There are several ways this word can be translated: and, also, even, indeed, but context the rules of biblical interpretation will tell you plus the rules of English Grammar. Using that I believe even is a better translation of the word and. Likewise the word were can and should be translated being The words  hath he quickened  are in italics and should be scratched because they were added by the translators. These italics are suppose to be put in to make clearer the meaning sometimes correctly sometimes not and here it is not. ...

Ephesians Chapter 1

Ephesians Chapter 1 Let us look at the book of Ephesians chapter 1. According to 2 Timothy 3 we are told what the scriptures are good for. Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: First we are told that all scripture not just the parts we like but all scripture is given by inspiration of God and that it is profitable for doctrine which is right believing, for reproof which tells us when we are not teaching and practicing the word of God correctly, and correction which brings us back to correct teaching from the error we were practicing. A Study of 2 Timothy 1 As biblical students there are certain rules we need to adhere to. We all know that any verse has to be kept in its context to be able to rightly divide it. We also must know to whom a verse is written to be able to see how it applies to them and then see how we can get a benefit from the verses that are not written directly to us. This applies not only in the Hebrew Scriptures but also in the book of Acts as well as in the general epistles 1&2 Peter and 1, 2, &3 John. There are also books written to Groups such as Hebrews and James, there are books addressed to Timothy, Titus, Jude, and Philemon. If you don’t remember that then you will end up incorrectly dividing God’s word. The seven Church Epistles are the only books written directly to us and, the general epistles apply directly to us. We are going to look at chapter 1 of 2 Timothy a book that was written to an individual and applies directly to his life. The scriptures need to be understo...
