Ephesians 6
Since last week we covered the opening section of Ephesians 6 I thought I’d start with the last section of the relationships section so we have a good running start into verse 10 5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singeleness of your heart, as unto Christ; The word servants in the Greek is the word douloi a form of the word doulos this is a servant by the servant’s as well as the masters choice. The word master is kurios it means: God, Lord, master, Sir. From kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title) -- God, Lord, master, Sir. So now we have a large multi part God not a 3 part God. The word translated singleness means with sincerity of heart or without hidden agendas or strings attached. 6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; Sounds a great deal like what is said...
