Ephesians 3

Whenever you study a chapter in the word of God you need to get a running start This is because most chapters in the Greek scriptures start with a conjunction tying it back into the prior chapter. So we will start with:

Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

In the Hebrew Scriptures and the Gospels everything was geared to the nation of Israel. Jesus was sent to the nation of Israel he told his apostles and disciples he sent out to only go to Israel.

Mathew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

These are the words spoken by Jesus Christ not my words but his. So what happened to change things. The resurrection look at what Christ said after he got up from the dead:

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

So after Pentecost salvation became available to both Jews and Gentiles and they became members of the same body members of the body of Christ joint heirs with Christ. No one ever even considered this. It was hidden in God. (1 Corinthians 2:7, Ephesians 3:9 1 Corinthians 2:8)

1 Corinthians 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Had the devil realised what was coming he’d never would have killed Jesus because we now all have Christ in us so Christ can be in millions of places at once instead of just where he is standing at that moment. This is a truth the devil has worked hard to talk people out of and he has in large part done just that. It's Our job to proclaim this truth again.

John 14: 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

I have a quick question If Jesus Christ is God we are suppose to do greater works than he did. How is that possible? Now if he is a man we can teach men Romans 10:9, 10 and they can get saved. Jesus could not do that because he had not been raised from the dead yet.

Well onto chapter 3

1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

In verse 1 Paul says he is the prisoner of Christ that word means a captive (as bound) -- in bonds, prisoner.

In verse two we have the word dispensation it is a compound Greek word oikonomia it means house rules a much better translation would be administration in fact this is a screenshot of this verse from an interlinear

Paul found this out by Revelation (Galatians 1:11, 12)

It also says this information was hid in God. Then again in verse 9 we have the word
oikonomia is used again it should still be translated administration but here it is fellowship. The word “by Jesus Christ” do not appear in the text can also and should be translate for. I looked at two different texts one has the words by Jesus Christ and one has it the other didn’t. The same is true with the various versions some say by Jesus some say God created

Look for yourself

In verse 14 we start what may be the greatest prayer in the entire bible.

14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

In verse 19 both words know knowledge have ginóskó as a base word and this word means experiential knowledge

Just like in your family your named after your dad. My father was Clarence Chamberlain. We are all named after our God.

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Notice verse 20 says exceeding abundantly I hate it when people quote or say it says exceedingly abundantly it doesn't learn to quote it correctly it is the integrity of the word of God that’s at stake.
