2 Peter 1 We are now moving forward with 2 Peter, it is near the end of Peter’s life. From Bullinger’s “Notes on the Second Epistle of Peter” “In spite of much divergence of opinion, we conclude that the apostle who wrote the First Epistle wrote this one also. While there is some difference between the tone of the two, this difference has been exaggerated by those who deny that Peter wrote the second letter. And a comparison of the language used shows close resemblance between the two epistles.” There is a big debate about this subject I will put in 2 different links to two commentaries about this subject if you are interested in checking it out. 1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; People do watch us so we need to always be aware we are setting an example for those around us. When people look at you do they see someone who walks the word or do they see someone who talks a good game but does not follow through with actions. Like we are exhorted to do in the book of: James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. We need to live the word. We will fall short but the idea is not that we are perfect. There used to be something said that I always thought conveyed the idea really well Production unto perfection. We are never going to walk perfectly but each day we do better than we did the day before. It is a process just like everything else in our lives we get better the more we do something. If you were to go and play baseball the first
