Philippians 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, So right off I see a problem because of the word therefore. Therefore is a conjunction tying what was said in the last few verses of chapter 1 into the context of chapter 2. The end of chapter 1 was talking about how we should behave and what we can expect to see happening because we have taken a stand for Christ. This first verse also divides right in the middle of a thought. Mind you I am not saying God did it wrong just whoever divided this book into chapters and verses. If you ever needed proof that there is no divine authority behind chapters and verses all you need to do is look here in Philippians to see how poorly it was done.
