If you asked most christians what the crucifixion looked like I would bet would describe something that looked like this. The thing is we now have to ask is this what the word says? The only way to find out is to open the word be it your favorite bible website or opening a real bible to see what it says. That is the only way to separate the truth from the tradition. Remember what Jesus said about tradition? Mark7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. What we are looking for is the truth of the word of God not what tradition says. Tradition is fine when it lines up with God's word but if you base your belief system solely on tradition you will be wrong sooner or later then your belief is wrong. Ephesians 4

Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Here we have the same word for prisoner as in the last chapter. I  should mention that prisoner is  fine translation for this word I just wanted to point out that the word means bound to. The word vocation is the Greek word klēsis It means to have a calling. We are to walk worthy of our calling. What does that mean? We all this first means that we heard God's call like it talks about in 1 Timothy 2:4. When we got saved we were given certain abilities and we are to use them for the benefit of the body of Christ 1 Corinthians 12:12 ff, Matthew 10;8,  and 1 Corinthians 14:5. 2 Peter 1 We are now moving forward with 2 Peter, it is near the end of Peter’s life. From Bullinger’s “Notes on the Second Epistle of Peter” “In spite of much divergence of opinion, we conclude that the apostle who wrote the First Epistle wrote this one also. While there is some difference between the tone of the two, this difference has been exaggerated by those who deny that Peter wrote the second letter.
